01:17 pm - A Rumble Underground!
Well I know that it has all been very quite and not a lot has been said by the Loopyladies recently! However, That is all about to change!! Lots has been going on in the background at www.loopyladies .co.uk and the village of Whittering_on_the_Edge!  As you all know animals are usually the first to sense something is about to happen way ahead of us humans and this is exactly what is happening in the village. Dave the dog was the first to notice (although Mavis the cat would argue with this!) Dave has been taking his usual early morning stroll across the village green and has noticed the earth moving under his paws! He has had a good sniff around and he can smell something in the air. So he is keeping his ear to the ground and keeping both eyes wide open (except for the occasional dog naps that he has to take to keep up his strength and alertness!) and will keep everyone posted as to what is going on!

03:53 pm - Sesame Street at Bears of Bromsgrove
Well its the turn of Bears of Bromsgrove to have new stock today! Daphne has just taken delivery of a wonderful collection of cuddly characters from Sesame Street. Plus she has a Viva Las Vegas Limited Edition Elvis Bear which she is very excited about.
Dave however, is still very suspicious about Mavis. He thinks she is looking a little smug - in fact she looks like the cat who has got the cream! He has decided to enlist the help of his friend William and do a little bit of spying. So leaving his best bone in his basket Dave and William have gone to lurk outside Mavis's house in the hope of doing a little detective work and finding out what she is up too!

03:26 pm - Whittering-on-the-Edge
Well its all very exciting in Whittering-on-the-Edge today. Oodles the gift shop has had a delivery of new stock. Handbag Hooks! All very exciting - lots of lovely designs to choose from and a way to keep your handbag safe. For the Frog Collectors Adam Binder has produced the Maple frog which is available in 3 different colourways as a box and one colourway as a solid.
Dave the Dog and Mavis the cat are currently trying to race each other to produce their latest Catalogue or Dogalogue (depends which one you talk too!) Mavis still has not given up on her plan to move into the big house and is currently keeping an eye on any new pets arriving at Whittering Hall. A handsome male pedigree persian or maine coon cat would be her ideal choice to try and snare. Dave, however, is fretting about Crufts! Yet again he has not been asked to participate and really cannot understand why. He thinks he needs to take his best bone to his basket and have a think and a chew!

Well - how time does fly! I know people say time goes by faster as you get older and I can understand this applying to Anita (well she is so very, very old!) but a youngster like me -well what can I say. Things have been very busy here at Loopy Ladies since I last wrote in this journal. We have opened a new department - Impress For Less (you will find details on the site) and we have been involved in a lot of fund raising for charity. David Bellamy and Adam Binder have been at the shop to help raise funds for 'Trout in the Classroom' and Peter Calvesbert and family were here a couple of weeks ago to help raise funds for Macmillan and the Blue Cross.
At the moment the sun is actually shining!!!!!!!!!! But don't worry I'm sure it will rain soon! We are working very hard at the moment putting new product on the site. We hope you all like visiting Whittering-on-the-Edge. We are actually trying to encourage local crafts people by renting out shops in the village so they can sell their products on line and reach a wider audience. If you know of anyone who might be interested in this tell them to contact us and we will discuss it with them.
Well I suppose I better go know and do some more work.

Well we all seem to have Elvis mania here at Loopy Ladies.
Wonderful new Elvis stock arriving. We have just spent a few days away on business and it has been the perfect excuse to sit and watch Elvis DVD's. Old favourits such as Blue Hawaii and G.I.Blues had an airing and of course we just had to watch the 68 Comeback Special and Aloha From Hawaii. After a few drinks we had a long and involved discussion as to the whereabouts of all the scarves that Elvis gave out to lucky members of the audience during these shows and other shows during his career. What happened to them all? We think they must have been kept as very precious things and perhaps handed down in the family. So we have decided to make this our mission. We want to track down as many of these scarves as possible, find out their story - which show they were given at, memorable events at the show and what has happened to the scarf since then. Watch this space and we will keep you posted!!!

How come its June already - what happened to the rest of the year. We had a wonderful time on Saturday at the Harmony Kingdom 10th Birthday Bash. We saw lots of friends old and new and had a very enjoyable day. Several collectors took their dogs with them but we managed to get there without Dave and William noticing. However, we did take Horace our pet dragon who several collectors very kindly walked for us during the day! we saw some of the wonderful new Harmony Kingdom pieces due out over the next couple of months. Hopefully they will go on our website today although we are still waiting for details of prices.
Typically the sun is now shining outside and I am in the office sorting out the mail order. I think Anita is taking a nap downstairs - just for a change!!!

10:36 am - Adam Binder
William and Dave have stayed at home this morning still dreaming of becoming champion dogs. Williams making himself a bit scarce because he's hoping nobody will notice the fact that he accidentally(well it was next to a bone!)chewed through a speaker wire that the chap who earns the money to buy bone and biscuits spent hours cleverly concealing (so he thought!). Also there is the small incident of the disintegrating wall right nest to Williams day basket. It only started out as a little lick - then a little nibble - now there seems to be a whacking great hole in the plaster! But with the help of his mate Dave, the basket seems to have been moved and a blanket cleverly arranged up the wall so that you can hardly see the missing plaster.
However, at the shop there is great excitement as the latest Adam Binder order arrives with the club piece for this year - Rise n' Shine. So its mail order hat on for me today.

03:26 pm - Daves buddy William
Just when you think it can't get any worse!!!! Dave's being having in depth discussions with his buddy William concerning Crufts! Well, William (otherwise known as Foxtarn Moon River) has a pedigree as long as your arm but is a bit dim to put it politely. But has this stopped him giving advice to Dave? - of course not!!! William cannot see why Dave shouldn't enter Crufts. They have stood side by side and looked in the mirror and decided that they must have some parentage in common (The fact that Dave could have stood with any random dog and done the same comparison doesn't seem to have entered their heads!)They now seem to have decided that as future champions!!!! they should be pampered and only fed the very best and be allowed to sleep on the sofa! William seems to have appointed himself as Dave's Manager - although may yet decide to go for the Crufts entry as well - although several problems have occurred here as William is not keen on the brushing and bathing, not keen on walking on the lead, not keen on traveling in the car and not keen on the dark. However, he does like other dogs and people. At the moment they are lying opposite ends of the sofa adapting various cushions (a bit of nibbling here and there) to make sure they can dream in the utmost comfort!

Well where are the days going to. Tuesday already - where did Monday go. I suppose for Anita she just dozed it away as normal. I'm here in my slightly warmer office - have discovered a fan heater but don't tell her downstairs!!!! Dave the dog is very excited - he's being watching Crufts. He cannot understand why we didn't enter him as he thinks he could have been the best of all breeds as he qualifies for all the categories! Tried to explain without hurting his feelings that Crufts doesn't work like that. They prefer you to be one particular breed not a selection of several! However, Dave will not be told and thinks he should be entered for next year. Have tried mentioning this would involve a great (and I mean a GREAT deal of grooming!!!!) and lots of baths! Not to mention trying to find a little more out about his parentage! Well, Dave thinks the judges might well go for the natural look as he thinks its tipped to be trendy next year (so obviously not keen on the grooming and bath bit) and he assures me he has a pedigree as long as my arm that involves lots of different dogs! Apparently, he is keeping this information in a safe place as he says he is very rare and unusual! Dave thinks he spotted several relations on the T.V. and has started nagging about his Dogalogue - no catalogues allowed around Dave! So I am now going to make a concentrated effort to sort out his Dogalogue and you never know - if your a dog owner (or Dave thinks you probably have nice biscuits in your cupboard) Dave may well send you a letter with details of interest for branches of his family. (And believe me Dave has a lot of branches to his family so watch the post!!!)

03:20 pm - Tuesday
Tuesday - Seem to have a very nasty cold (probably from being locked in a cold office - whilst others are hogging the working radiators). One of the plus points about working in an old building is that in the winter it is freezing cold and in the summer it is boiling hot! Seem to have been working away at my desk all day sorting out mail order - so many exciting things happening - soon we will have David Winter Cottages in stock. This will be the first time they have been available in a British shop for a couple of years - so this is all very exciting for collectors who have been unable to view new pieces in the 'flesh'.Think it's time for a hot drink - well a lemsip at least. Have been waiting for the last 2 hours for the kettle to be put on but think i will give up and go and do it myself I think the stairs are getting a bit much for Anita!

03:04 pm - Another Week
Well it's another week and I'm not sure where the last one went. My fingers seem to have gained weight over the weekend - must be the chocolate! - as they seem to be hitting two keys at a time. Perhaps if I use the keyboard a lot this week they will slim down again because of all the exercise and whilst I'm typing I can't eat chocolate!!! Well perhaps one-handed but that means the other hand will lose even more weight as it's having to type all the letters not just half! Lots to do. Fragile World delivery has now arrived so tons more mail order to send out along with the normal everyday quota. Gosh I work hard whereas Madame downstairs seems to spend all day talking to customers and occasionally when the shop is empty she takes a nap. Of course we've had the drama of the broken nail which has meant she has been able to do less than normal(is this possible I hear you ask???). This major disaster meant a quick trip to the nail salon for emergency repair work and allegedly she has been told to rest this nail for a month!!!! Well better get back to the mail order one of us has to do some work!

Well I see Anita has woken up and joined in the conversation - Orange! I'm not orange - I blame the photographer!!!! Well the Adam Binder parcel has arrived and I'm sending out parcels as fast as I can. The Mother and Baby Platypus is really lovely

It's me from downstairs, Anita - let loose on the journal for the first time. Need to just clarify the situation as I am considerably younger than Karen and the reason I am the one meeting and greeting our customers in our shop is because Karen is too orange and scares people. See photo.

10:30 am - Waiting for Adam Binder
Well here I am in my freezing cold office (whereas Anita - because she is so old - is basking in the tropical heat of the shop!!!)waiting for the delivery of Adam Binder goodies. Parcel is due anytime now and should have in it Squawk n' Squabble and the Mother and Baby Platypus Palm Charm - just can't wait - the pieces just keep getting better and better!!!!!!
Now have to go into the packing room to organize the packing department (Think that might be me today!).
Must remember to check Anita is awake as she has a tendency to drop off to sleep - luckily we have a loud bell that rings when a customer arrives.

06:54 am - Our new live journal
Well this is very exciting - My daughter has set up a live journal for us! Think she is being a bit harsh on badgers concerning their technical ability. Not sure exactly how this works but no doubt time will tell. I'm sure eventually we will get the hang of it! Can this be read as I,m typing it? Do I have time to correct my spelling mistakes? Ooooo - lots of questions to ask!
Anyhow, is this the right place to tell everyone about me/us or is there a special section I should be typing in? There are only so many questions I can ask the daughter and she gets a little fed up when I keep asking the same questions time and time again - there is such a lot to remember and its so easy to get distracted by chocolate! Better actually go and do some work - after all do have a web site to build (that sound worrying doesn't it?)
Gosh, that's exciting - have found a spell check at the bottom of the page!!!!!

06:38 pm - My first journal entry!
Well, actually not me, as this is actually Karen's daughter trying to set this up so that someone with the technical know-how of a badger (ie karen and anita) can succesfully blog.
